Home Tour - Glamorous Glenview Master Bath

INTRODUCTION

Right from the start, we knew this bathroom remodel deserved to be elegant, classic, and ultra-glamorous. This couple was an absolute joy to work with. Not only were they incredibly sweet and fun, but they survived having their master bathroom GUTTED during the Covid quarantine, and still managed to keep their spirits high throughout the process. We’re so in love this bathroom and are thrilled to be sharing it with you today!

THE DESIGN PROCESS

The palette for this project is made up of luxurious marbles, warm brass accents and deep navy blue contrasts. We wanted to incorporate a classic look but introduce a fresh, modern take and keep the space bright and spa-like.

Before the renovation, the bathroom had blue carpet throughout (yes, you read that correctly), a jacuzzi tub, and a way-too-small shower tucked behind the door of the water closet. Our goal was to make the space more waterproof (goodbye carpet), expand the shower and open it up to the main area while also creating a more elegant vanity and bathtub area.

THE REVEAL

Our client’s friend, Hallie Duesenberg, shot these photos and we are so thrilled with how they turned out! Let’s take a look at this new beauty!

We maximized storage along this window wall with a massive double vanity full of drawers and open shelving along the bottom for towel storage.

A black frame adds a touch of contrast to the space and ties in with the moodier paint on the vanity and in the water closet.

To really maximize the drama of the tub area, we incorporated a modern freestanding tub with a floor-mounted filler, and book-matched two slabs behind the tub to create an epic feature wall and backdrop.

Brass plumbing fixtures and accents continue to pull in some warmth, while polished nickel light fixtures help balance things out.

No bathroom is complete without a touch of nature. Fresh greenery, a reed diffuser and candle help to round out the spa-like feel of the space.

Having your bathroom ripped up during a pandemic and quarantine is certainly not a fun experience, but we are so grateful for these clients and their incredible attitude towards the process. Now that it’s over, there’s nothing like a glass of wine in a soaking tub to melt away any residual stress! Cheers!
