DGI's Best: Bathrooms
Welcome back to another roundup of DGI’s Best! This week, we are excited to take a look back at our top five bathrooms to date. We spend a lot of time in our bathrooms every morning as we get ready, and the right bathroom design can ensure that your mornings feel like the most luxurious part of your day. DGI has designed a variety of bathrooms over the years, but these top five stand out to us for their custom vanities, spa-like showers, relaxing tubs, and even a wet room!
West Loop Penthouse Primary Bathroom
The primary bathroom in our West Loop Penthouse Renovation is probably the most luxurious and custom bathroom DGI has designed to date. The entire space is covered in a luxe Carrara marble - the backsplash, the shower, and the six-inch mitered edge countertops all feature the same natural stone. We also designed custom integrated sinks at the vanity and a custom bench and shampoo ledge in the shower for a seamless look. At the vanity, DGI introduced a rift-cut white oak that was wire brushed for added texture and grit. We opted for a minimal slab profile with integrated finger pulls for a custom, elevated look. The design was complete with sleek, polished nickel accents and plumbing fixtures throughout.
Lincoln Park Primary Bathroom
In our Lincoln Park Renovation, the primary bathroom became one of our favorite spaces in the home for its modern and minimal design. We started off with a matte grey floor tile to act as a minimal backdrop for the sleek freestanding tub and custom vanities. Two matching vanities on either side of the tub introduce clean, minimal cabinet profiles and sleek quartz countertops that waterfall down the exposed side of the vanities for a really elevated look. For the steam shower, we carried the matte grey porcelain floor tile onto the walls for a really continuous, cohesive feel. The design was complete with the addition of LED strip lights at the vanity toe kicks for that extra touch of luxury.
Logan Square Primary Bathroom
Over in Logan Square, DGI completely transformed this primary bathroom through a major renovation and floorplan upgrade. When DGI was brought onto the project, the layout of the bathroom was awkward and dysfunctional. With a new floorplan, DGI was able to create space for an epic, spa-like wet room! A moody concrete tile wraps the shower portion of the wet-room, while a modern wood-look tile creates a warm and inviting backdrop for a sleek free-standing tub. We repositioned the vanity to sit beneath a large window, so DGI got creative with a suspended mirror that allows natural light to pour into the space. The creativity and problem-solving behind the design of this primary bathroom puts it at the top of our favorites list!
Lincoln Park New Build Primary Bathroom
In this new build home in Lincoln Park, the primary bathroom became the gem of the home. The bathroom features separate his and hers vanities, a makeup station, and a large shower at the center of the room with a glass surround. DGI gave the shower a dramatic look with book-matched dark grey porcelain slabs. We balanced out the bold shower, with a soft, playful hand painted wall tile that adds some texture into the bathroom. The design of this primary bath was complete with brass accents and plumbing fixtures throughout that add the perfect touch of warmth.
Northbrook New Build Primary Bathroom
The primary bathroom in our Northbrook New Build project stands out to us because it marries a crisp, modern aesthetic with an earthy, boho feel. We gave the space a luxe and inviting feel with a combination of brass and marble accents throughout. Between the vanities, we designed a a chevron tile inlay with brass strips that creates the look of an area rug. We also designed a custom makeup vanity for added functionality. To help the space stand out, we introduced a bold, geometric mirror for a pop of drama.
With that, we’ve reached the end of our bathroom roundup! We hope you enjoyed taking a look back at some of our favorite projects with us, and maybe you even found some inspiration for your own bathroom renovation.
